Forbes Global Alliance is delighted to announce that Mr. Marcus Wong, a prominent figure in the insurance industry in Hong Kong, has joined the Forbes Global Alliance Full Financial Club as a Platinum member. Marcus holds a significant position in the industry and has been dedicated to developing external asset management and family office services in recent years. He is determined to combine financial technology to make corporate and family wealth management easier, more convenient, and faster in aligning with international standards.
A dedicated learner and achiever, Marcus entered the insurance industry at the age of 20. Within two years, he became a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and at the age of 26, he became the top individual marketer with the highest premiums and a prestigious member of the Top of the Table (TOT). In 2009, at the age of 28, he was appointed as the youngest-ever Regional Director in the history of AIA Group, a record that remains unbroken to this day. At the age of 31, he became the youngest Senior Regional Director in AIA Group, and at the age of 41, he became the youngest Senior Senior Regional Director, a prestigious position held by only seven successful leaders in all of Asia.
In 2006, he founded the "Round Table Region," which evolved into the "Round Table Family" five years later. As of 2023, he has cultivated over 10 regional areas and built a financial planning team with over 1000 members. The Round Table Family adheres to the principles of self-improvement, mutual teaching, and giving back to society for long-term development.
In terms of philanthropy, Marcus has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yan Oi Tong for over a decade. In 2011, he established the Proud Soaring Charity Fund, dedicated to promoting the educational development of young people.
As a Platinum member of the Forbes Global Alliance Full Financial Club, Marcus was invited as the keynote speaker for the inaugural FGA VIEW event held by Forbes Global Alliance in Guangzhou Tianhe Mansion on July 20 this year. He shared his insights on leadership with the guests and engaged in a fireside chat with Forbes Global Alliance ESG Chairman, Mr. Chen Jialiang, and Chief Operating Officer and CORPHUB Founder, Ms. Wen Jiaqiao, where they discussed their business and life experiences.
With remarkable achievements in the insurance industry, Marcus aims to achieve even greater success. His company holds insurance and securities licenses, making it unique in the market in terms of its entrepreneurial model. To provide comprehensive high-net-worth family office services, Marcus established Family Service Limited in 2012 and introduced Ascend Wealth Management and Ascend Family Office in 2022, leading the team into the field of serving ultra-high-net-worth clients. In addition, AIA Round Table Family has joined External Asset Management (EAM) for holistic wealth management and has full-licensed companies operating in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai. Apart from private banking platform asset management, they also provide referrals for private equity funds and venture capital funds.
Over the next 10 years, Marcus aims to lead his team to further develop the insurance industry while actively expanding the family office and wealth management business. He firmly believes that Hong Kong will be the center for insurance and family office services in Asia, and he hopes to expand his business from Hong Kong to the Greater Bay Area and eventually throughout Asia.
